516-908-8005Door Glass Replacement
At Prestige Window Works, we recently completed a door glass replacement for a homeowner in Bridgehampton. The client reached out because the glass in their front door had cracked due to a recent impact. Not to mention, the damage not only compromised the door’s appearance but also its insulation and security. We knew the job required quick attention to restore both aesthetics and functionality to their home.
Upon arrival, we carefully assessed the situation. The first step was safely removing the cracked glass. In addition, we inspected the door frame to ensure it remained undamaged. Fortunately, there were no signs of warping or structural issues, so we could focus entirely on replacing the glass. Whenever the frame is intact, it allows for a faster and more cost-effective solution.
The client wanted something durable but visually appealing, so we recommended tempered glass. This option not only offers enhanced security but also improves energy efficiency. In Bridgehampton, where weather can fluctuate, energy-efficient glass is especially valuable. It helps maintain a stable indoor temperature, not to mention lowers energy costs.
We custom-ordered the glass to ensure a precise fit. The installation was smooth and seamless. We applied a high-grade sealant to secure the glass, which is crucial for preventing drafts and moisture. Due to Bridgehampton’s coastal climate, proper sealing is essential for long-term durability and protection against humidity.
After the installation, we conducted tests to ensure the door closed properly and that the glass was secure. The homeowner immediately noticed the difference—both in the enhanced appearance and the improved insulation. The new glass also gave the door a fresh, modern look while boosting security and energy efficiency.
